Highly addictive drug blamed for cannibal attack in Miami a growing threat The new synthetic drug being blamed for a horrific attack in Miami in which a naked man chewed the face off of a victim in broad daylight has become popular in parts of the Maritimes and has health officials warning of the drug’s violent consequences.U.S health authorities say bath salts popularity was noted by doctors to rise significantly throughout late 2010 and into 2011.“Bath salts” — as the drug is known by on the streets — are much more dangerous than than the impression that their innocuous-sounding name leaves. Made with the active agent of either Methylenedioxypyrovalerone (MDVP), mephedrone or methylone, it can result in an aggressive, chaotic response in the user, combined with intense hallucinations and extreme euphoria. It has been compared to a mix of cocaine and amphetamine.Greg Purvis, director of Addiction Services for the Pictou, Colchester East Hants and Cumberland county health authorities in northern Nova Scotia, called the drug the most dangerous new product he’s seen in his career.“I’ve been working in addictions for 19 years … and this is the first drug which really has me concerned.” (AP Photo/The Miami Herald)

OMFG I do MDVP almost every day it doesn’t turn you into a cannibal freak. I mean maybe if you do like 1 gram? I wouldn’t know since an effective dose in 5mg. I’m sure people do some crazy shit if they drink 60 beers, too. I’m tired of this bullshit being blamed on drugs. This person was obviously mentally ill and people ignored it until it was too late.

This is the customary time when the defendant expresses regret for the crimes they committed, so let me do that because I am not without my regrets. I am here today to be sentenced for my participation in releasing mink from six fur farms. I regret it was only six. I’m also here today to be sentenced for my participation in the freeing of 8,000 mink from those farms. I regret it was only 8,000. It is my understanding that of those six farms, only two of them have since shut down. I regret it was only two. More than anything, I regret my restraint, because whatever damage we did to those businesses, if those farms were left standing, and if one animal was left behind, then it wasn’t enough. I don’t wish to validate this proceeding by begging for mercy or appealing to the conscience of the court, because I know that if this system had a conscience I would not be here, and in my place would be all the butchers, vivisectors, and fur farmers of the world. Just as I will remain unbowed before this court—who would see me imprisoned for an act of conscience—I will also deny the fur farmers in the room the pleasure of seeing me bow down before them. To those people here whose sheds I may have visited in 1997, let me tell you directly for the first time, it was a pleasure to raid your farms, and to free those animals you held captive. It is to those animals I answer to, not you or this court. I will forever mark those nights on your property as the most rewarding experiences of my life. And to those farmers or other savages who may read my words in the future and smile at my fate, just remember: We have put more of you in bankruptcy than you have put liberators in prison. Don’t forget that. Let me thank everyone in the courtroom who came to support me today. It is my last wish before prison that each of you drive to a nearby fur farm tonight, tear down its fence and open every cage. That’s all.

This is what a veterinary student writes after a “shit week” with field trips to the livestock industry and to Skara slaughterhouse: “A turmoil of smells, cries and glances. Slaves, most of them babies. Suffering babies. Blood and flesh meets iron and concrete. All are doomed to death. Death on a conveyor belt. Carbon dioxide fumigation. The pigs have strong feelings of distress, gasping for breath and become anxious. This what their last moment in life is like.

vegetables should never be a ‘side’

yep, I get so full I always feel like I’m overeating but it’s nearly impossible when it’s all good shit. poorly worded but it’s the truth!

eating that many vegetables is the quickest way to stop eating “healthy”. Learn to incorporate your favorite foods in your diet. Just don’t go over maintenance.

I have dinners like this all the time. Just throw some quinoa in there and you’re fine.

Maybe for like a few months or so but that’s quickest way to drive you crazy and make binge on cookies, cakes, and cupcakes. If people drank a lot of water they also wouldn’t be hungry.

except the only time i crave sweets is when im pmsing
i never drink water and generally eat a regular 3 meals a day with no snacking
but please, tell me more about my body and my tastes

No one is saying not to incorporate your favorite foods in your diet. What this graphic is depicting is that to feel full off of eating chicken you’d consume around 1000 calories. That’s not good. Even more so with oils, it’s calorie rich and you can’t even tell! Those are hidden calories and people need to be aware—especially since there are hardly any nutrients in them.
Ideally, the bulk of your meal should be grains, fruits, and vegetables. What I meant by ‘vegetables should never be a side’ is that you shouldn’t be eating a whole chicken breast and a couple spoonfuls of mashed potatoes. You should have a hearty salad or a big plate of veggies sprinkled with whatever crap you seem to not be able to resist bingeing on that way your cravings are fulfilled and you feel full and also ate some healthy shit. (Water is not an acceptable substitute for veggies and fruits, sorry. But you’re right, you should drink water throughout the day no matter what!)
I didn’t think that would be so hard to understand. Maybe you’re not getting enough vital nutrients from vegetables?
Also, as a disclaimer, I understand the need to binge. I’ve been good homies with the binge purge cycle for the better part of my life, but switching to plant-based diet has only helped me reduce the need to binge because I can snack throughout the day and never feel hungry. I still obsessively count my calories. But, eating 250 calories of veggies or fruits is enough to fill me up in between meals and ~WHOA~ it staves off my urge to binge because my stomach is full, but I’m still under 2000 calories every day. (I only need 1700 at my weight/height/activeness)
